City of Hamilton Housing Subsidy Support

No Hamiltonian coping with mental illness should be denied a warm bed, nutritious meals, and dignified care due to inability to pay. Governor’s Care Living actively works with the City of Hamilton municipal subsidy programs to make supportive living fully accessible.

Eligibility Check

Individuals receiving Ontario Disability Support Program (ODSP), Ontario Works (OW), Old Age Security / GIS, or who have limited financial resources and need supportive housing assistance.

Application & Referral

We welcome direct applications from individuals, families, as well as referrals from hospital discharge nurses, community caseworkers, and shelter outreach teams in Hamilton.

Move-in & Stabilized Care

Once approved, the subsidy directly offsets room and board costs, leaving the resident with a secure personal allowance for their individual discretionary needs.

We understand how urgent discharge planning and transitional placement can be. Our intake coordinator works swiftly with Hamilton Housing Services and hospital psychiatric teams to evaluate compatibility and fast-track intake paperwork.
